I was terribly upset about a girl the night I made this photograph. It was rainy, wet, and quite cold, tho I still ventured out minus a jacket, but still with my camera and some film. It was before I owned a tripod so I'd make use of trash cans or walls around campus for camera stability.

This area near Perkins Chapel at SMU had proven inspirational to me a few times the previous year. A lamp "burned" into the film making that exceptional highlight. Much later that girl and I really connected on one of those benches. The entire area under the trees there has always seemed to be a magical place at night.
