Digital Color - October 2006
Photo Info
This is the power line tower just near my house. It is on
this little hill connecting one side of the block to the other, and there
are only peoples back fences facing the street. It is always dark there, and
traffic little enough to set my tripod up and make long exposure photographs
in the middle of the road. The place for whatever reason always has a kind
of mystery to it. When you walk over the hill, the starry night sky seems to
open up as this tower rises above you. The October night sky is something
magical and Cosmic to me.
Near the very top edge, where the tower seems to point
towards, there are three stars making the slightest of an ark. Just to the
left of the left most star of these three (behind the two power lines so
close together) is where you would find the Andromeda Galaxy, the closest of
our galactic neighbors at a mere 17,047,649,500,000,000,000 miles away, or
2.9 million light years.
